Mental Health & Well-being
Hornton Primary School is committed to providing a happy, caring and supportive environment, that nurtures every child to be able to reach their full potential.
Our aim at at Hornton Primary School, is to care for and develop every child educationally, emotionally, spiritually, morally and physically. We give great consideration to the mental health and wellbeing of every member of our school community, recognising how important mental health and wellbeing is to coping successfully with everyday life.
Positive wellbeing is promoted throughout the curriculum and in all school activities. Through a carefully planned and responsive approach to PSHE (Personal, Social, Health and Economic education), pupils are supported to develop the skills and understanding they need to make life long, well informed decisions and lead confident, healthy and independent lives.
A key aspect of this approach is to ensure children are able to manage times of change. Transitions into the next phase of learning are given much considered throughout the school year, to ensure children are looking forward to the challenges ahead and enjoy positive transition experiences.
