Welcome to Hornton Primary School

Hornton Primary School is small village primary school situated in the heart of the rolling hills of the North Oxfordshire countryside. We believe in nurturing young minds through enquiry and discovery, challenging expectations and building on excellence.

There has been a school in Hornton since 1613, when John Fox left a half yard of land for a school master to teach 3 children in the village. Today his vision lives on; we have 105 students and 14 members of staff who believe, as John Fox did, that the children of Hornton and the surrounding villages deserve the very best education.

Our school values drive us forward and make us who we are. We live by them and we believe Hornton Primary School is a special place because of them. Our aim is to develop and instill these core values in all who work and learn here. Our values are Humility, Perseverance and Self-belief.

Hornton Primary School has a strong and proud history of developing independent, curious, determined children ready for the next stage of their life. We strive for excellence in everything we do, but recognise that everyone sometimes find things hard so our ethos can be described by this simple sentence

'Everyone deserves a champion, someone who never gives up on them and insists they can be the best they can possibly be.'
