During Science lessons with Mrs Tyrrell, Oak Class have been exploring materials. They have considered the properties of materials (hard, soft, stretchy, transparent, opaque) and their uses. The children have then used this knowledge to first design a den with reasons why they chose specific materials, and then used this plan to create a model. Their first model was using craft materials, then they refined their design and used clay to create fantastic den structures which you can view below.

The Great Rainforests

In their science lessons with Mrs Whitehouse, Oak Class will be investigating the habitats of living creatures and what impact this has on them. The children will also be finding out about the growth of plants, and the concept of 'living, dead, never alive'.
