The Governors at HPS

There are eight Governors, including two Parent Governors who are elected by the parents of the children at the school, and two school representatives. They are actively involved in the life of the school and are responsible for its general management and finance. They provide a bridge between the school and neighbouring communities.

Jennie has been a Parent Governor at Hornton Primary School since 2013. She currently works as a Lead Early Years Advisory Teacher for Oxfordshire County Council, following a teaching career in the early years and across the Primary age range. Her professional job complements her role as parent governor and there are many areas of expertise which enhance her position as chair of the data and curriculum committee, including around safeguarding, the EYFS, data analysis and curriculum development. Jennie lives in Hornton, has one son, Jack, in key stage 2 and is keen to support the school in their current journey to outstanding by offering support and advice as a critical friend.
